I often read many men lamenting the fact that their wives won't leave the org but sometimes it's the wife that's ready to push the eject button at whatever cost. i wonder what they would do if their wife said I'm finished with them and then still breathing fire insists that they move thousands of miles away from the offending thing. Then she finally settles down when they start a new life in a new city where they don't know anyone.

The Abandoned Husband
by compound complex innot of your own accord would you slip away and leave this fragile and wounded man unattended.
i love you deeply, but, i admit, erratically.
my flaws are manifold.

They said she was a jezebel
who led her husband off to hell
but deep inside he knew the truth
for years he tried to be aloof
but she began to feel the pain
and soon she thought she'd go insane
and then one day they called them in
a friend revealed her spoken sin
he asked her please do not explode
but she began to lock and load
the elders ready for a fight
he knew it wasn't really right
and so their minds were now released
they packed their bags and headed east

Without You
by compound complex ini dreamed, once again, you were at my side talking, laughing, loving.
the sun warmed my face and you my heart as we lived a life forever.. i awoke with a start that left behind the land of our past, viewing my today for the misery and sadness that, truly, it is and ever shall be.. is it better to live in the land of dreams with the one i love or to exist alone and awake, recalling the dark intent that poisoned your heart?.

I thought of a verse from the Judy collins song
Tears and fears and feeling proud to say I love you right out loud
dreams and schemes and circus crowds i've looked at life that way
but now old friends are acting strange they shake their heads they say i've changed
but somethings lost and somethings gained in living everyday
I've looked at life from both sides now from win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall I really don't know life at all.

She sipped another glass of wine
She stole it from another time
When she was younger and naive
With all those dreams she did believe
that she would someday know for sure
The moon was made of green manure
did you see that one coming my brain twisted again

Taking that poem into "the meaning of life" or "truth" whatever that may be is a type of misery and sadness but one that opens the eyes to interesting possibilities. It is true that we may not find the answers to our questions but by being available and curious who knows what may be revealed. A good fantasy is like a sipping a glass of wine on the beach, it has it's value but then we have to move on and stare into the abyss of our universal ignorance of what are we doing here and keep looking because maybe we can learn "something" with the time we have left.
I guess I'm in one of those moods

Want to hear something funny ?
by troubled mind inmy husband just won the city wide holiday light display for christmas i am so proud .
just a few short years ago i was the one that put a strand of white lights around the porch railing ,and a couple of lighted deer in the yard ....that brought the elders around real quick (after three years of silence ) at that time my husband was still holding onto the notion his faith was not bond to a cult .
it didn't take long after the 'loving sheparding call' for him to see things in another light.

El, Baal and JHVH
by Doug Mason inone of the most important sources that we have for the most ancient stages of the religion of israel are some epic texts about the gods of canaan that were found in an archaeological excavation in a place called ras shamra (ancient ugarit) early in the twentieth century.
these epics reveal a very rich ancient canaanite mythology, especially in the elaborated stories of the gods el and baal and their rivals and consorts.
while, of course, the israelite branch of the canaanite group partly defined itself through the rejection of this mythology, much of the imagery and narrative allusions that we find in the works of the israelite prophets, the psalms, and other biblical poetic texts are best illuminated through comparison with these ancient texts.

does the wt always carefully phrase sentences so as to never take blame?
by sowhatnow inim recalling a time when i sat and circled words in a watchtower article, indicating strongly the fact that it is in fact the writters opinion.. however just the suggestion in the sentence these words are ignored.. for example.
it is our understanding.
we believe this to be the case.
